Reference use only
ChangingUnits is a general-purpose reference tool. The conversion results it provides are accurate for everyday use but are not intended for critical applications in engineering, medicine, science, pharmaceuticals, aviation, or legal contexts. If accuracy is essential in your situation, verify the result against a primary standard or authoritative reference before acting on it.
Conversion factors
We use exact or internationally recognised values wherever they exist. That said, some units have definitions that vary by country, industry, or historical era — a fluid ounce in the US is not the same as one in the UK, and a ton in the US is not the same as a tonne. We label which standard we're using, but if your use case depends on a specific regional or industry definition, double-check which one applies.
If you spot a wrong conversion factor, please report it and we'll fix it.
No liability
By using ChangingUnits, you acknowledge that all results are for reference only. ChangingUnits and its operators accept no liability for any loss, damage, error, or consequence arising from reliance on the results provided here. You use the site at your own risk.
